Hi there! I’m Lisa.
First of all, in the interest of authenticity, I need to confess. That picture to the left is probably about a decade old. Yup. I’m one of those people. No, not one of THOSE people! One of the people who thinks that the teal and yellow in the picture makes it the right picture for my website. Yes, I’m also one of the people who chooses which team to root for in the Super Bowl by their team colors.
For those of you bothered by the lack of a current photo, here is a photo taken Thanksgiving of 2017 of me and my Grandma. No, not because I am really concerned about you having a current picture of me, but because my Grandma is awesome! Exept now I want to add photos of my awesome hubby and my awesome mom and my awesome…
Oh, you didn’t come to this page to learn about my favorite colors or how awesome my family is? You came to learn about Steeped In Solutions? I wish that were a short answer.
First, it came out of frustration. I got into creating websites and designing logos and business materials kind of by accident. That’s another story, but the relevant part is that my clients kind of looked at these things as a solution to their problems. They aren’t solutions, they are simply tools to help you. Think of having a website sort of like having a car. Having a car is fantastic. It certainly can get you places. It’s what it was designed for! But unless you put gas in it, change the oil, keep air in the tires, and have some place to go it’s kind of not worth it. Steeped In Solutions was created out of the realization that unless I teach my clients how to maintain their websites and make them realize that their website needs to lead their audience to take action, the website is kind of useless too. That’s where the idea was birthed, but not the entirety of it.
The second part has to do with the name. Well, the “Steeped In” part of the name. This has more to do with me than you. I like it because it’s a nod to my tea obsession. Mmmhmmm. Obsession. My husband loves to tell people how we need a whole cabinet in our kitchen devoted to my tea leaves, things I use to blend them, steepers, cups, etc. I don’t think he realizes I have a stash in my office too. Shhh! Anyway, it’s a nod to that, but it’s also a reminder to me that this business is not my own. I know it will fail if God is not the head of this company. I am way too flawed on my own, but as a child of God I have access to all of his insight, wisdom and every other possible thing I could ever need. This business needs to be steeped in prayer, as do my clients. Only then can we all succeed together.
Lastly, if you know me you know that I love to brainstorm ideas. I love ideas, I love possibilities, I love to experiment and tinker with possible solutions. I’m not sure if I love that or tea more! Luckily I can play with ideas while drinking tea. As I looked at what I wanted my business to become, because I did not want to continue to build websites that just sat in the driveway (back to the car metaphor) I decided that I wanted to build solutions. If you want a website, great, lets look at where you want it to go and build it around that. But I want to do more. I want to build marketing plans, processes for efficiency, training materials and more all built around my clients needs.
If you’re on board that’s great! I want to hear from you. Tell me about yourself, sign up for my newsletter, schedule a free consultation. I’m looking forward to building something great with you.
